Police investigating reports of man with gun at Tempe theater

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Tempe police are investigating reports of a man who witnesses said possibly had a gun inside Harkins Theatres at Arizona Mills Mall Tuesday night.

Police said multiple witnesses reported seeing a man waving a gun, or something that looked like a gun. They told police he was pointing it at people watching a nighttime showing of "Man of Steel."

Tempe police told 3TV by the time they arrived the movie was ending and the possible suspect was nowhere to be found.

No shots were fired and no evidence was found of the weapon or suspect, according to Sgt. Mike Pooley of the Tempe Police Department.

The theaters were cleared by police and reopened about 10:20 p.m.
