PHOENIX -- A Phoenix police spokesman said a suspicious device found at a vacant home Tuesday morning was not explosive.

A man found the device while cleaning out an abandoned home near 18th Avenue and Polk Street, which is north of Van Buren Street.

A bomb squad robot was brought in to check out the device and police determined it was not a bomb.

Police said it looked like the real deal but had no explosive chemicals or components.

There is no word on how long the device had been at the home or how it got there.

Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said no one was ever in danger because there were no explosives.

No one is facing charges.
