SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scottsdale Fire Department paramedics rescued a dog Sunday morning that wasn’t dealing well with the heat.

Fire officials said a technical rescue team responded to the Gateway Loop Trail and made contact with the dog’s owner via cell phone.

The owner said he was in good condition, but he was concerned for his dog.

Crews made their way up the trail with extra water and the “big wheel” to help the dog back down.

The dog was successfully retrieved and appeared to be in good condition.

The owner was advised to follow up with a vet.
