CHANDLER, Ariz. -- One person is dead and another injured after a red light accident.

At about 11:00 p.m. Thursday, a Toyota minivan and Chevrolet truck collided at the intersection of McQueen and Ray Roads, said Chandler Police Sgt. Joe Favazzo.

He says one of the cars apparently ran a red light.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 49-year-old man, died at the scene. One victim from the minivan was flown to a local hospital. Police say he had just arrived in the U.S. from Iraq within the past 10 days.

The Toyota had six adult passengers. The Chevrolet, which had a loaded landscape trailer, had five. Two of the passengers were a 6-year-old boy and a 13-year-old, who were both fine.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
