PHOENIX -- It appears the worst of this week's heat is over.
On Wednesday, the Valley topped out at 110 degrees, just a few degrees shy of a record. The Excessive Heat Warning has since expired and Thursday should be a few degrees cooler.
Look for a high today in the Valley of 107 degrees and just 105 Friday and Saturday.
Mostly sunny skies are expected today through the weekend.
Father's Day is looking dry and warm with a high of about 106 degrees.
There is a Red Flag Warning for strong winds and low relative humidity today in the high country. The warning is from noon through the evening hours for parts of Coconino, Mohave, Navajo and Apache counties. Sustained southwesterly winds are expected between 20 and 30 miles per hour, while relative humidity is expected to drop below 10 percent.
