GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Olive Ave. was closed Monday morning between 47th and 51st avenues while police investigated a serious collision involving a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle.
According to police, a 27-year-old male Glendale resident was crossing Olive Ave. mid-block when he was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman.
The man was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The female driver remained on scene.
Police said impairment does not appear to be a contributing factor on the part of the driver.
Officers had Olive Avenue between 47th Avenue and 51st Avenue closed in both directions for several hours.
