PHOENIX (AP) -- A Phoenix man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison and lifetime probation in the shaking death of his 4-month-old daughter. Maricopa County prosecutors say 26-year-old Amos Andreas was sentenced Wednesday. He pleaded guilty in April to second-degree murder and attempted child abuse. Authorities say the girl died on Aug. 15, 2011. That was three weeks after Andreas and the baby's mother took her to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Andreas told investigators that his daughter was sleeping on his chest when she fell on the floor the night before. But a forensic pediatrician found that the baby's injuries were consistent with being shaken.
