PHOENIX -- Valley photographer Mike Olbinski has a passion for storms. He chases storms during all seasons all across the state of Arizona and he's gotten some pretty amazing shots.

In fact, one of his shots of the monsoon dust storm of July 5, 2011 has become pretty recognizable. His timelapse of this storm went viral.

This week, Olbinski is chasing storms in the Plains and Midwest. On Monday, he witnessed the development of a pretty amazing supercell thunderstorm. He's hoping to capture a shot of tornado or two before he heads back to Arizona, just in time for the monsoon.

For the first time, Olbinski is going to start a stormchasing photography tour this summer in Arizona.  He hopes to teach others the unique photography skills he uses to capture the beauty of the Arizona monsoon.

"I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I wanted to wait until I was ready," he explained when we chatted live on "Good Morning Arizona" Wednesday. "This is kind of a trial run, in a way."

The three-day tour is Aug. 9-12 in Tucson.

"We're going to learn how to take pictures of lightning and storms," he said. "In the afternoons we'll just be going to go out chasing and trying to get as much as we can. It's going to be pretty fun."
