PHOENIX -- A ridge of high pressure is building over the desert Southwest, leading to a forecast that includes the hottest days of 2013 so far.
Dry and stable weather is expected through the weekend with clear skies and abundant sunshine. Look for a high today of 105 degrees, which is four degrees above average for this time of year.
Tonight, overnight lows will dip to the upper 70s and low 80s.
On Thursday, the mercury will climb to about 108, just two degrees away from the record for tomorrow's date.
On Friday, we'll likely see our first 110-degree day of the year.
Over the weekend, the ridge of high pressure weakens a bit, but temperatures stay well above average, topping out between 106 and 108 both Saturday and Sunday.
No rain is expected for the next seven days.
