PHOENIX -- The Valley is in for some of the warmest temperatures of the year so far this upcoming weekend.

Today's afternoon highs will be similar to what we saw yesterday, with the Valley warming to about 98 degrees.  That's pretty close to average for this time of year.

Expect sunshine and breezy conditions, especially this afternoon when southwesterly winds are expected between 10 and 20 mph.  Stronger winds are forecast for the high country, and there is a Red Flag Warning in effect for Northeastern Arizona, where 20-25 mph winds are expected in parts of Navajo and Apache Counties.

Winds should begin to ease up a bit over the next couple of days as high pressure builds over the Desert Southwest. That ridge will keep skies clear, and with plenty of sunshine, we will warm to above average temperatures.

Look for a high of 99 tomorrow and 103 on Friday.

Saturday and Sunday, we expect temperatures soar to about 108 degrees.
