GLENDALE, Ariz. – Glendale police said an arrest was made Wednesday afternoon in connection with a Tuesday night shooting that left one woman dead and another man in the hospital.

Police said 22-year-old Angelo Medina has been booked into jail on charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure.

Few details about Medina’s arrest have been made available.

Police originally said on Wednesday that a male victim in the area 59th Avenue and Glendale responded to a knock at the door and came face to face with an armed suspect.

After a brief exchange of words the man shut the door.

The suspect allegedly responded by firing at least three shots through a window.

Officers responded to find the man near the front door with injuries that were not life threatening.

A woman was also found inside the home with a gunshot wound. She would later die from her injuries.

Police have since said that it appears as if the shooting was brought on by a child custody dispute.
