GLENDALE, Ariz. – A 17-month-old child died Wednesday evening after being found floating in a backyard pool in Glendale.

Authorities said the child had been underwater for about 15 minutes when an adult in the house found the boy.

People at the home, which is near 75th Avenue and Union Hills, performed CPR, but the child was reportedly still unconscious and not breathing on his own when he was airlifted to the hospital.

The adults at the home said the last time they saw the child he was inside with everyone else.

It is believed that the boy may have crawled outside through the doggie door.
