SCOTTSDALE -- CrackerJax in Scottsdale is set to reopen Friday, May 17, after a small fire Tuesday shut down the indoor sports park.

The facility's outdoor miniature golf course and driving range were unaffected by the fire and will remain open.

The fire started in an arcade game, but was kept in check by the facility's indoor sprinkler system. Firefighters arrived minutes later and were then able to completely douse the flames. No one was injured.

CrackerJax is working on cleaning up the damage and getting ready to reopen.

"Our dedicated team is working very hard to be back up and running as soon as possible," said Jim Saunders, owner of CrackerJax.  "The fire was contained to a small area in the arcade and will require new carpet and fresh paint."

CrackerJax is located in North Scottsdale and is Arizona's largest sports park with over 27 acres of family fun. Outdoor activities included a bungee dome, go-karts, water wars, bumper boats, miniature golf courses, a driving range, batting cages and volleyball courts.
