GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing person of interest in a recent homicide case.

Police said on April 18 they went to a home near Olive and 67th Avenue in response to a death investigation.

Officers subsequently found 33-year-old Fernando “Frankie” Portillo dead inside the home.

While investigating Portillo’s death, detectives obtained information and evidence that led them to identify 28-year-old Jacob Lee Medina as a person of interest.

Medina and Portillo had been friends for more than 10 years and had been working together in the weeks leading up to Portillo’s death.

Medina, however, has been reported missing by his family. Their last known contact with him was on April 17.

Police said the possibility exists that Medina is in a surrounding state.

Anyone with any information about Medina’s whereabouts or Portillo’s death is asked to call Glendale Police Detectives at 623-930-3173 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
