PHOENIX -- It was a windy start to Thursday as a cold front worked its way south through Arizona.

Winds were out of the northeast and expected to be between 15 and 25 mph through the morning hours in the Valley. They'll ease up just a bit this afternoon and evening before picking back up for another round of windy weather tomorrow afternoon.

Winds are even stronger in the high country today, blowing from the northeast at 20 to 25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph. There is a Red Flag Warning for the high country today for dry and windy weather, and the same warning extends for Southern Arizona into tomorrow.

Look for a Valley high of 96 degrees today under sunny skies.

Low to mid-90s are likely all the way through the weekend.

A storm system is forecast to move through our region Sunday and Monday and could bring a chance of rain.
