Suspect arrested in Phoenix sexual assaultsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A 38-year-old man faces sexual assault, kidnapping and armed robbery charges after police detectives linked him to three separate incidents in Phoenix.
The three crimes took place near 26th Avenue and Monroe Street, 59th Avenue and McDowell Road, and 59th Avenue and Camelback Road.
According to police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos, a man approached a 48-year-old woman as she was walking home on April 20. He told the victim that he had a gun and forced her into his vehicle. The suspect then sexually assaulted the woman and forced her to withdraw cash from her bank account.
Nilson Quijano-Quezada was located by officers leaving the scene.
Detectives said Quijano-Quezada admitted involvement in the case and said he had done "this" before.
Detectives have linked Quijano-Quezada to an assault earlier the same evening. Police believe Quijano-Quezada approached an 18-year-old woman and attempted to force her into his vehicle. The victim fought back, but the suspect choked her, rendering her unconscious, then stole her purse and fled the scene.
Police said he also picked up a 42-year-old prostitute on March 18 and sexually assaulted her.
Police said his vehicle was a black four-door 2001 Lexus IS300.
