GMAZ ladies test favorite Pinterest recipesPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX --There's nothing like the website Pinterest to spark new ideas for cooking, decorating and more. So we decided to take some of our favorite "pins" and test them out! And every Monday on Good Morning Arizona, we'll tell you how it went.
This week, Kaley O'Kelley, Gina Maravilla and April Warnecke tested out some quick and easy recipes.
Gina says her spinach lasagna roll was so simple, her five year old daughter was able to help her make it. "It's basically just a different take on lasagna," she tells us. "You take each individual noodle and roll it up with ricotta and spinach."
Gina says it was a little bland for her and her husband, but the kids ate it up. "Next time I'll add a spicy Italian sausage to it," she says.
As for Kaley, her Chicken-avocado-black bean salad didn't go quite as planned. "Mine was a fail, but it was my fault," she says. "I didn't have a couple of the ingredients." She says without the green onions and spicy salsa, her husband found it kind of bland.
Finally, April tried out the Cilantro-lime chicken soft tacos. "I'm a sucker for any recipe where you can use rotisserie chicken," laughs April. "So in a food processor, you put some garlic, some olive oil, cilantro, toasted almonds, Parmesan cheese, lime juice and some chicken stock."
Grind it all up until it's a chunky pesto, then coat your rotisserie chicken with it. April left out the salt, since the meal is salty enough without adding extra.
