TEMPE, Ariz. -- A manhunt is underway in Tempe -- police are looking for the person who plowed a pickup into a young couple's home near Scottsdale Road and Weber Drive on Saturday evening.

Tempe Police said the driver of a red pickup got in a little fender-bender with a blue truck in a convenience store parking lot. But instead of stopping to inspect the damage the driver of the red truck took off driving fast and wild, according to witnesses.

He didn't make it far, Just a block down from the convenience store he hit a mail-box, crashed through a fence and went airborne, slamming into the side of the house where a young couple lives.

“I heard a crash and I came running and got my cell phone. I knew this thing was bad the way I heard it.  I thought it happened right here in the front then I saw the truck over there, saw the house, saw people running, a blue car ... I thought, ‘oh no, this might get violent,’” said Beatrice Cordero, who was outside when the out of control driver plowed down her mailbox.

Witnesses told Tempe police officers that the pickup driver was very drunk.

He's was still on the loose as of 9:00 Saturday night, however police told 3TV they know who the driver is. They believe he borrowed the truck from a friend.
