CHANDLER, Ariz. -- At least 60 couples are scrambling to find a new place to get married after their wedding venue abruptly closed.

Inspirador at Arizona Avenue and Boston Street in downtown Chandler has been "wrongfully foreclosed on by BBVA Compass Bank," according to an announcement sent to the couples on Sunday.

The venue is not offering refunds to the couples.

Bride-to-be Theresa Tanner is supposed to get married in about 30 days and has spent $14,000 at the one-stop shop. She has not been able to get in touch with anyone at the business and is trying to figure out how and where she is going to hold her wedding.

Valerie Hochber is scheduled to get married at Inspirador in November and put down a $4,000 deposit earlier this month. She said she feels "scammed" and just wants her money back so she can get married somewhere else.

Kristina Celik with Arizona Weddings Magazine said other event professionals in the Valley want to help the couples. Several vendors arrived at the business Monday morning and said they are willing to assist the brides and grooms.

3TV's Yetta Gibson has called Inspirador and at this time has not received a call back from the owner. However, Dilia Wood emailed 3TV the following statement, which also was posted on the venue's Facebook page:

"Inspirador closing is extremely sad news. The reasons for closing are complex, devastating and heartbreaking. We are deeply sorry. We know that sorry is not enough and we are working around the clock to provide options. However, the owners of another wonderful, full service venue called Zulu, in Scottsdale, are offering goodwill to our couples and they have honored pre-reserving wedding dates, will honor the deposit, and will provide a dedicated person on staff to help with the transition and the ability to work with Inspirador couples' current investment."
