PHOENIX -- Earth Day will be a warm one for Arizona this year. Under a ridge of high pressure, temperatures will quickly warm from the mid 50s Monday morning to the mid 90s by the afternoon.

Today is likely to be the warmest day of the week ahead, although afternoon temperatures are expected to stay above average. Average highs for the Valley this time of year are mid 80s.

A dry cold front will move through on Wednesday and Thursday bringing high clouds and breezy weather.  While there will be a slight chance of rain in the high country, the Valley will likely stay dry.

Temperatures will begin to climb again by the end of the week and next weekend will likely be a warm one spent in the mid 90s.
