Police identify suspect in deadly officer involved shooting

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Glendale Police Department has identified the name of the suspect and detectives in Friday's deadly shooting.
According to Glendale Police, the three Phoenix Police detectives are Detective David Thwing, a 12 year veteran, Detective Bill Behm, a 20 year veteran and Detective Brandon Cozad, a 9 year veteran.
The three detectives, who are all members of a fugitive apprehension squad, were attempting to contact William Boyd Plant who had several felony warrants.
When Plant was confronted by the detectives at a parking lot near Olive Avenue and 43rd Avenue, after identifying themselves as police officers, Plant acted in an aggressive manner and pointed an object at them that had the appearance of a firearm.
Fearing for their lives, all three Phoenix Police Detectives fired their duty weapons. Plant was treated and pronounced dead at the scene by Glendale Fire personnel.
