GILBERT, Ariz. -- Gilbert Police said they arrested a 14-year-old boy Wednesday after he allegedly threatened to "shoot up" Mesquite Junior High School and Mesquite High School.
Students at Mesquite High School contacted the school resource officer after noticing the threats on Facebook.
Classes were not interrupted, but the police presence at both schools was increased.
Gilbert police began investigating the threats, and responded to a home near McQueen and Warner where they served a search warrant.
Detectives spoke with a 14-year-old at the home, who admitted to making the threats on Facebook.
Gilbert police said the teen was arrested and charged with interfering with an educational institution.
