DPS officer arrested at Country ThunderPosted: Updated:
FLORENCE, Ariz. -- A Department of Public Safety officer was arrested at Country Thunder in Florence Saturday night.
Pinal County sheriff's deputies were called to Moonshine Willy's bar inside Country Thunder at about 10 p.m. for a male patron who was being disorderly and refusing to leave the women's restroom area.
Deputies found Steven Svestka, 41, of Show Low, and noticed obvious signs of alcohol intoxication, according to PCSO spokeswoman Tamra Ingersoll. Svestka refused to leave the women's restroom area and deputies were forced to escort him from the property at the request of the bar employees.
As they led him out of the bar, he purposely walked into other patrons, causing them to stumble and fall, according to Ingersoll.
Once outside, deputies tried to talk with Svestka but said he became enraged and combative. They asked him to calm down, but he refused to comply and was taken into custody.
Svestka was transported to the Pinal County Adult Detention Center where he was booked on one count each of disorderly conduct and hindering a government operation.
