TEMPE, Ariz. -- An ROTC prank gave some ASU fans the blues Monday.

The big, gold "A" on Arizona State University's "A" Mountain was painted blue Monday morning! Bruce Haffner flew over the scene on Good Morning Arizona to give us a look at the colorful prank.

Turns out some members of ASU's ROTC painted the "A" blue as a "gift" for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who was doing a commission at ASU this year.  ROTC members painted it "Air Force Blue" and took a picture in front of it.

They later hiked back up the mountain to restore the "A to its usual gold color.
