PHOENIX -- The new week was off to a beautiful, sunny start Monday morning, but we're in for a windy change over the next 48 hours.

A strong spring storm system is dropping down from the Pacific Northwest and will drag a cold front across Arizona tomorrow.

Today, look for strong southwesterly winds of between 10 and 20 mph in the Valley, with gusts of up to 30 mph.

Winds should be a bit stronger tomorrow afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the high country of Northern and Eastern Arizona 10 a.m.-10 p.m.  From tonight through tomorrow, a High Wind Warning is in effect for even stronger winds of up to 45 mph, with gusts of up to 65 mph.

There is only a slight chance of a few showers in the high country, and we should stay dry and sunny in the Valley.

The Valley will see temperatures peak in the upper 80s today, the low 80s tomorrow, and the mid 70s on Wednesday.

No rain is expected in the next seven days.
