Philbert July By Andrew Michalscheck
El MIRAGE, Ariz. -- An El Mirage man was charged with murder this weekend after he reportedly confessed to killing his girlfriend.
El Mirage police said the Phoenix Police Department called them Saturday night to say that 53-year-old Philbert July had walked into their Central Phoenix Station and confessed to killing his girlfriend at their El Mirage home.
El Mirage police officers visited the home near El Mirage and Cactus roads and found July’s girlfriend dead inside.
Detectives went on to interview July, at which time he allegedly stated that he and his girlfriend had been drinking when they got into an argument.
During the argument July killed his girlfriend.
July has since been booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one count of second-degree murder.
