PHOENIX -- A suspect is dead after being shot by Phoenix police officers early Saturday morning.
Police were called to a home near 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road at around 1:00 a.m. for a domestic violence call.
A spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Dept. said that when police arrived on scene, they found a man standing outside of a home, firing an automatic weapon. It's believed that weapon was an AK-47.
There was a brief standoff between the suspect and officers. The officers then shot and killed the man. No officers were injured.
Police evacuated nearby homes during the incident.
