PHOENIX -- A Phoenix father was killed by his teenage son Friday night after he allegedly threatened his family with a knife.
Police said they responded to a home near Central and Osborn and learned that 36-year-old Antonio Raizola had gotten into a physical altercation with his wife and teenage son.
During the course of the argument, Raizola reportedly grabbed a knife and held it in a threatening manner towards his wife and son.
The son managed to take the knife from Raizola and stabbed him. Raizola was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police said the father may have been impaired at the time of the incident.
Authorities conducted interviews, and said a claim of self-defense was made. The son was subsequently interviewed and released.
