'Bunny' brings excitement to Phoenix Zoo on EasterPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – Easter was a big day at the Phoenix Zoo and while guests did not catch the Easter Bunny in action, some got to witness the birth of the zoo’s newest resident "Bunny," a female Hereford calf.
According to zoo officials, the 78.5-pound calf was born around 11:15 a.m. and was already up on her feet within 20 minutes of birth, soon after nursing from her mother.
Her mom Izzy is on loan through the Arizona Beef Council.
The cow and calf can be seen on the Children's Trail at the Phoenix Zoo in the Red Barn area.
