PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are searching for a young Hispanic man who they say killed a man during an argument at a Valley apartment complex earlier this week.

Police said they responded to an apartment complex in the area of 55th Avenue and Indian School Road on Friday evening and discovered two men in the parking lot with obvious signs of trauma.

Both men were taken to the hospital, where one of the men died from his injuries.

The deceased victim was identified as 50-year-old Johnny Espindola. The other victim was Espindola’s 54-year-old brother.

Police said they learned during their investigation that Espindola and his brother had been standing in the parking lot when they were approached by the suspect.

For reasons yet unknown, the three men wound up getting into an altercation, which resulted in Espindola sustaining a fatal wound.

The suspect, who is between the ages of 18 and 25, fled the scene before police arrived.
