CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A man died early Sunday morning after crashing his motorcycle into an SUV.

Chandler police said Anthony Ray Chavez, 22, was driving eastbound on Warner Road when he ran into the back of an SUV.

Police said Chavez, who was traveling at least 90 miles per hour, was thrown a “great distance” from his motorcycle over the SUV.

The man was taken to a local trauma center where he died.

Police said they believe Chavez may have been impaired.

The driver of the SUV was reportedly driving close to the speed limit at the time of the accident and showed no signs of impairment.

The three people inside the SUV weren’t injured.

Investigators are trying to determine if Chavez was a resident of Arizona or another state.
