How to install a security screen door

PHOENIX -- If you're considering installing a decorative, high-quality screen door, aluminum alloy is the way to go. It's lightweight, it never rusts and once you put the paint finish on it, it's good to go forever.

Once this door is mounted, it sends a message to every would-be criminal that they will have to go through twice the work to get into your house. Basically, you are making your house the 'least-desirable' to break into.

Tell your neighbors to do the same thing and make your neighborhood the ‘least desirable’ to potential intruders.

A security screen door is not only great for ventilation, it keeps the kids in and keeps burglars and insects out.

Make sure to invest good money in your door hardware. Door hardware is rated in Classes 1 , 2 or 3. Make sure to buy Class 2 hardware for your door latch, lock or deadbolt system. Anything less than Class 2 is junk and not worth your money.

Go to a double cylinder deadbolt with children in the house to keep the kids safely inside and keep those criminals out. A double cylinder deadbolt requires a key to open door from the inside, as well as the outside.
