Glendale police ask for public's help to solve '03 homicide

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale police are asking for the public's help to solve a homicide that happened 10 years ago.
Stephon Wickware, 17, was shot just after 10 p.m. on March 27, 2003, at Glendale and 58th avenues.
Police said Wickware had left his girlfriend's house to catch a bus home when he was shot in downtown Glendale. Responding officers found him lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police spokesman Sgt. Brent Coombs said witnesses reported seeing a young Hispanic male riding away from the area on a bicycle after the shots were fired.
Witnesses described the shooting suspect as a Hispanic male, 18 to 20 years old with a small build.
There is no known motive for the shooting at this time.
As the 10-year anniversary of Wickware's death approaches, family and friends plan a vigil beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the location of the murder.
