St. Patrick's Day fans start the celebration earlyPosted: Updated:
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Many Valley residents wasted little time getting their St. Patrick's Day celebrations under way this weekend.
“I'm from Cleveland, we came all the way from Cleveland just for Padre Murphy's to celebrate,” said Marybeth Rodal, who raised a plastic cup of green beer to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Glendale.
For some, celebrating St. Patrick's Day is an annual event.
“I worked at the Riverside Casino in Laughlin for a few years and I was their official leprechaun during the St. Patrick's Day parade. I had a lot of fun. Today is my birthday. I have a great time entertaining people,” said Patrick Morgan who was dressed as a leprechaun.
For others, this year is the first time celebrating the Irish way.
“This is the first time I ever have, just to come celebrate see what it's all about, I've never been out ever,” said Kristi Gile
Another advantage of getting an early start at Padre Murphy's is it's kid friendly.
“We've been out here before, this is the first time we've brought him. He's old enough, he's having a good time,” said Rachel Lay.
