Phoenix weather: More record heatPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Friday will bring another day of record heat to the state. A strong ridge of high pressure will bring mostly sunny skies and temperatures about 15 degrees above average for this time of year.
Look for Valley highs in the low to mid 90s today under mostly sunny skies.
Over the weekend, highs will fall to the upper 80s under partly sunny skies. Overnight lows will stay mild in the mid 50s to low 60s.
On Thursday, the mercury soared to 95 degrees at Phoenix's Sky Harbor airport, breaking the old high temperature record of 91 degrees, set back in 2007.
Payson tied their heat record at 78 degrees, while Prescott and Sedona both set new records at 79 and 82 degrees.
Temperatures will be nearly as warm in the high country today again before easing up a bit over the weekend.
No rain is forecast for the next seven days.
