Phoenix weather: Warm days are herePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- An unseasonably strong ridge of high pressure will bring our warmest temperatures of the year so far.
The Valley is typically in the mid 70s during mid-March, but this afternoon, temperatures will top out near 89 degrees. Tomorrow and Friday, we're likely to see our first 90-degree days of the year. The forecast highs of 91 degrees on Thursday and 92 on Friday would both tie the record highs set for those days.
Over the weekend, abundant sunshine continues and low 90s look likely for Saturday and Sunday before the ridge of high pressure weakens and temperatures drop off a bit early next week.
Meanwhile, overnight lows become a bit more mild in the low 60s.
In the high country, look for sunshine and afternoon highs in the 60s and 70s all the way through the weekend.
