TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals are parting ways with Early Doucet.

The team announced on Saturday that they have released the wide receiver.

Doucet was drafted by Arizona in 2008 and had seven touchdowns during 54 regular season games with the team.

Doucet started three games during the 2012 season, totaling 28 receptions for 207 yards.

The Cardinals also announced on Saturday that they have tendered a one-year qualifying contract offer to restricted free agent quarterback Brian Hoyer.

Hoyer is allowed to negotiate with other teams until April 19. However, the Cardinals have the right to match any offer Hoyer receives, or receive a draft pick as compensation.

Hoyer was given a second-round tender, meaning the Cardinals will receive a second round pick if they decide not to match another offer.

Free agent running backs William Powell and Alfonso Smith, and free agent defensive end Ronald Talley were also extended offers by the Cardinals.
