Police searching for drivers in fatal hit and run

PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are asking for the public’s help finding two motorists who were involved in a fatal accident Friday night.

According to police, 47-year-old Angel Hernandez-Sotelo was on his bike crossing the road in the area of 7th Street and Roeser just before 9 p.m. when he was struck by a Ford Taurus.

The driver of the Ford fled the scene and parked at a liquor store on the northeast corner of 7th Street and Roeser.

The driver exited the vehicle and ran off.

Police have not yet identified the driver, but they said the Ford Taurus was a rental car.

Police said Hernandez-Sotelo was also struck by a second vehicle, which also fled the scene.

Authorities have not been able to identify the driver of the second vehicle.

Hernandez-Sotelo was pronounced dead at the scene.
