CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A Valley man is facing multiple criminal charges for allegedly stealing items from Sam’s Club and selling them at his Phoenix mini mart.

The Chandler Police Department said Tarek Labadi, 41, was taken into custody following a three month investigation that was assisted by Sam’s Club/Walmart’s Global Investigations Team.

Sam’s Club/Walmart notified police while investigating multiple thefts from their store near Germann and Arizona Avenue in Chandler.

Search warrants were subsequently executed at Labadi’s Phoenix home and at his business, Leno’s Mini Mart, which is also located in Phoenix.

During the searches, authorities seized almost $50,000 in cash and property, as well as five rifles and two handguns.

Police said Labadi was using Leno’s Mini Mart to buy and sell stolen items such as electronics, cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, and personal hygiene products.

Labadi has been charged with several counts of buying and selling stolen property.
