Firebird Raceway is holding The NHRA AZ Nationals drag racing event.  It starts Friday, Feb. 21 and goes until Sunday, Feb. 24th.  Visitors will be able to witness 300 plus miles per hour Top Fuel and Funny Car Drag Racing.  Ticket prices vary. The Arizona American Italian Club is holding its annual Le Bellezze D'Italia Charity Italian Car Show on Saturday, Feb. 23rd. It takes place from 10am to 2pm.  Not only will folks be able to see Lamborghini Diablos, a Ducati Scrambler Motorcycle and an Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio, but there will be live music, food and drinks. Proceeds for the event will go to a charity. For admission, all you need to do is donate a non-perishable food item for St. Mary's Food Bank or dry dog food treats for Lost Paws Animal Rescue. The Buckeye Municipal Airport is holding its annual Buckeye Air Fair. Admission and parking at the event are free. Event organizers expect about 10,000 people to attend. Featured exhibit will be, The Spirit of St. Louis which was flown over the Atlantic by famous pilot, Charles Lindbergh, back in 1927. There will be plenty of vintage and modern aircraft to check out. 3TV is hosting the Tempe Diablos Charity Baseball Game. Money raised at the game goes to fund Rachel’s Challenge, an anti-bullying program at Phoenix, Tempe and Chandler Schools. The game is Sunday, Feb. 24th at 1:00pm at Tempe Diablo Stadium.  The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will be kicking off spring training baseball against the Oakland As. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the game or online.

The Cactus League Baseball teams have begun their Spring Training games.  Throughout the valley at various stadiums, you can check out your favorite teams and players who are gearing up for this year's Baseball season.  For all the various times,  ticket prices, locations and team information, you can go to the Cactus League website.

For some outside fun on the farm, head out to Vertuccio Farms Family Fun Fest in Mesa.  The festival is taking place on Saturday Feb. 23rd and Sunday, Feb 24th.  While at the farm, kids can visit the petting zoo, ride on the train, roam through mazes and play among 10 giant inflatables. Several rescue groups are hosting the Cupids and Canines Adopt-a-thon event.  The event takes place on Saturday from 11am to 2pm at Camp Bow Wow, located at 8550 N. 91st Ave., Suite 55.  There will be plenty of dogs available for adoptions. The Friends of Phoenix Library book sale takes place Saturday, Feb. 23rd, from 9am to 2pm. It'll be at their warehouse located at 1330 N. 29th Drive in Phoenix. More than 200,000 used books will be available for purchase, along with DVDs and CDs.  They'll have a special room called, "Barbie's Room", where shoppers can find rare, unique and specialty books. The 13th Annual Phoenix International Sportsmen’s Exposition takes place through the weekend.  The event is at Glendale’s University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.  There’ll be 160,000 square feet of fishing tackle and gear, hunting gear, boats, motors and marine accessories and almost everything else needed for the outdoor enthusiast. The Jr. League of Phoenix is holding its annual rummage sale.  It’ll take place all day Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8am to 4pm.  Admission is free. You’ll find clothes, housewares, jewelry, household items and other treasures. It’ll be at the Arizona State Fairgrounds off 18th Ave. and McDowell Road in the exhibit hall.
