Armed robber grabs money from woman at walk-up ATM

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Police are searching for the person who robbed a woman at gunpoint while she was withdrawing money from an ATM Thursday morning.

It happened at about 7:57 a.m. at the Wells Fargo at McDowell and Scottsdale roads.

According to Office Dave Pubins of the Scottsdale Police Department, the suspect approached the victim at a walk-up ATM, showed her a gun and took the money as it was dispensed from the machine.

The suspect ran away, heading south. Police have not said how much money he stole.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie, a light blue or medium blue bandanna and blue pants.

Aerial video from the Fort McDowell Casino News Chopper showed several police cruisers in front of the bank.

The victim was not injured.

Pubins said he would release updated information as it develops.
