Phoenix weather: Picture-perfect weather for holiday weekendPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- If you’re a fan of sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s, you’ll have no problem with the forecast this weekend.
High pressure has set up shop across Arizona. This weather feature is acting as a storm roadblock, and it’s keeping our skies clear.
Winds will be a little breezy, ranging from 10 to 20 mph across Arizona Friday as a backdoor cold front moves south across New Mexico. Those winds should subside by evening.
Afternoon highs in the Valley will be in the mid 70s from Friday through next Tuesday. Overnight lows will be in the mid 40s.
In the high country, high temperatures will be in the 40s with overnight lows in the teens.
Our game changer moves in Tuesday night.
A strong Pacific cold front will usher in breezy winds and rain for the Valley. Snow levels will drop between 4000 and 5000 ft.
High and low temperatures will also plunge about 10 degrees from the previous days.
The front will move out of the area late Wednesday, leaving us with dry weather. Temperatures are expected to gradually rebound Thursday.
