Phoenix weather: Cold but calm weather returnsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- It was a cold but calm start to the day across Arizona.
A storm system left nearly a foot of snow on the ground in many spots in the high country yesterday, and it brought rain and hail to the Valley.
This morning, there were reports of patchy fog, but no more rain or snow.
A cold air mass left behind will keep temperatures well below average for about another 48 hours before we see significant warming.
Look for sunshine statewide today, with afternoon temperatures peaking in the upper 50s in the Phoenix metro area. Overnight lows will once again dip to the low 30s Wednesday morning.
Tomorrow afternoon, we'll be back in the mid 60s and by Thursday, look for highs near 70 degrees.
The weekend looks warm and dry with no rain expected in the next seven days.
