BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- A Buckeye man who went missing on Friday has been located by police.
Buckeye Police said on Saturday afternoon that 61-year-old Craig Newman was found alive in the desert near Buckeye. His health is being evaluated by the fire department.
Newman was supposed to meet friends on Friday at a desert location near the Buckeye and Surprise border, but he never showed up.
Friends and family began looking for Newman, and found his vehicle against a tree with the engine still running.
The Buckeye Police Department was called, and officers began searching for Newman with the help of the Phoenix Police Department air unit, Native Air, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office air unit, MCSO Search and Rescue, and the Arizona Department of Corrections.
