PHOENIX -- Phoenix Police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly stabbing near 51st Avenue and McDowell Road early Friday morning.

Police said 34-year-old Johnny Lee House has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail on second degree murder and aggravated assault charges.

Officers responded to a home in the area of 4800 W. Granada just after 3:30 a.m. after receiving word of a stabbing.

Police arrived to find a 33-year-old man and two other men standing outside of the house.

The 33-year-old told authorities that he had returned home with two of his friends when he had an altercation with House, who occasionally stays at the home.

House reportedly stabbed the man during the argument, which is when the police were called.

Officers were eventually able to get House out of the residence. They then went inside the home to find a 66-year-old resident deceased from stab wounds.

Detectives were able to tie House to the stabbings and subsequently placed him under arrest.

The 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries that were not life threatening.
