PHOENIX -- A man trimming a tree with a chainsaw suffered serious injuries while cutting a large branch Friday afternoon.

This occurred at an apartment complex near 36th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

A Phoenix Fire spokesperson said that they were called to the home for a tree rescue call.  When they got there, they found an adult male on top of a home, suffering from a severe arm wound.

It appears that the man was struck by the branch he was cutting and pinned into the tree. He also sustained injuries from the chainsaw.

The man was somehow able to free himself and make it down from the tree and onto the home's roof.

Firefighters tended to the man's injuries and transported him to a local hospital where he is said to be in extremely critical condition.
