PHOENIX -- An El Mirage man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his father to death during an argument last April.

Albert Arias, 48, entered the plea on Friday to one count of second-degree murder. He is due back in court on Feb. 13 for sentencing.

Arias walked into the El Mirage police station back in April and told authorities about the stabbing.

Arias, who had blood on his hands and arms, told police that he had stabbed his father multiple times because he was tired of being abused.

Police responded to the home and found Arias’ father lying on the kitchen floor bleeding and suffering from approximately six stab wounds.

Arias was arrested, and originally pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder charge last April.
