SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- Sierra Vista police are asking for help to identify a robbery suspect.

Police said a 76-year-old blind man and his 69-year-old wife, who had just had leg surgery, had finished shopping at the Fry's Food Store at 4351 E. Highway 90 and were loading their groceries into the back of their truck at approximately 1 p.m. on Dec. 16.

The suspect ran up to the couple and grabbed the woman's purse from the shopping cart. He then ran east through the parking lot where he jumped a fence and headed east toward Tree Top Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white graphics on the back.

On Thursday, police released a photo of the suspect's clothing and surveillance video of the purse-snatching.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity can contact Detective Butler at the Sierra Vista Police Department by calling 520-452-7500 or by calling 88CRIME at 520-882-7463.
