CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A Chandler man is facing drug and child neglect charges for allegedly leaving his 3-month-old child alone in his apartment.
Chandler Police said officers responded to the 1200 block of W. Park Lane Boulevard on Tuesday morning after receiving a report of a burglary in progress.
Police searched the area and came across 26-year-old Tyler Jeffrey Dotson, who matched the description of the burglary suspect.
Officers determined that Dotson was not involved in the burglary, but he was found to be in possession of narcotics. Police said Dotson also admitted that he had left his 3-month-old child unattended in his apartment.
Police responded to Dotson’s residence at 875 W. Pecos Road and found the baby in the unlocked apartment.
Officers fed and changed the baby, and eventually located the mother at her job. She responded to Dotson’s apartment and took custody of the child.
Child Protective Services was notified of the incident, while Dotson was booked into the Maricopa County Jail.
