PEORIA , Ariz. -- Baby, it’s cold outside! But that didn’t stop some folks from taking a plunge into a chilly pool in Peoria Saturday.
It was all for a good cause. About 150 swimmers braved the chilly waters at Sunrise Mountain Pool to raise awareness about water safety.
Safety officials remind us that even though it’s winter, we can’t get complacent about the dangers of kids near water.
Drownings can happen anytime, even if the family isn’t using the pool.
In Lake Havasu, we found a similar sight, as a group of guys took their own plunge into the lake.
The 41st Annual Polar bear Day took place at the Nautical Inn Beach.
The water temperature was likely in the 60s.
